About Dr. Haber

Sandra Haber, PhD. is a psychologist in private practice in New York City. Dr. Haber is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and a former president of the Division of Independent Practice of the American Psychological Association.

When she is not working with patients, Dr. Haber pursues her interests in psychology and medicine by focusing on practical approaches to serious illness. She "gives psychology away" through public speaking, television appearances, and media interviews. Dr. Haber has appeared on shows such as Good Morning America!, Sally Jesse Raphael, CNN and Fox on Psychology. Her work has been featured in the New York Times and in magazines such as Self, Psychology Today, Shape and Family Circle.

Honored as Distinguished Psychologist of the Year, awarded by Cancer Care and serving as the co-chair of the American Psychological Association’s Congressional Initiative on Serious Illness, Dr. Haber has also co-authored four books (including Breast Cancer: A Psychological Treatment Manual | Men, Women and Prostate Cancer | Saying GoodBye to Managed Care | and Finding Your Voice).
